Dr. Theresa Gibbs
Family Nurse Practitioner
Dr. Theresa Gibbs is a Family Nurse Practitioner at HCCH and sees patients at Watauga Medical, Primedical, and Surry Pediatric offices. Theresa joined HCCH in January 2021 as the Director of
Nursing and divides her time between seeing patients and administrative responsibilities. Originally
from Philadelphia, she began her nursing career in 1994 after graduating from nursing school in Reading, PA. In 1997, an opportunity in Boone North Carolina brought she and her 3 small boys to a “piece of paradise” she is thrilled to call home. Theresa worked in public health, serving as a school nurse in the Watauga County School System until 2017. After graduating from East Tennessee State University with her Doctorate of Nursing Practice degree, she continued her work in Pediatrics until her employment at High Country Community Health in 2021. When not at work, Theresa enjoys running, riding bikes, traveling, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
